You can feel through your words, Joel, the overwhelming sense of loss for what is unfolding throughout the world. Hang tight, and keep the faith, Brother. Good WILL prevail. Safe journey home.❤️
That photo of the Missouri River was something else - I really didn't think the divide would be so sharp in landscape. Steinbeck was onto something there. It's funny that in Canada, the east-west dividing line is usually one of two things, either the Manitoba-Ontario border, or slightly west, at the country's longitudinal centre, in Landmark, Manitoba, slightly east of Winnipeg. This longitude roughly corresponds with Fargo or the Dakotas/Minnesota border line
Also interestingly enough, where I am, 18 hours away from Chamberlain, in Edmonton, we're getting the same gusts from the Rockies, set to sharply cool things off by early next week after a fairly mild week. Crazy how systems connect over vast distances like this.
Joel, we were there in late May and I had great spirits there. That bluff with statue sitting on it is a heartwarming moment. The small museum inside was great also. Your travels are great to follow. Safe journey.
Currently listening to readings on mindfulness for school, realizing how much I need more resilience. But now, I’m seeing how my life itself is a map, figuring out just where to fold.
Joel, thanks for the pictures from SD, they helped me feel connected to home. You were about 200 miles from where I grew up. Someday I want to see Destiny.
A beautiful reflection on the pain in today’s world and the need for resilience
